To avoid moisture harming the process, woulfs bottle or vacuum resistant flask is highly recommended to be place between the manifold and vacuum pump. These units are extensively used for sterlity testing after removing the membrane filter from the holder for incubation in culture media. The testing unit gets high appreciation in the market for its 250 ml holding capacity and 12.5 cm2 filtration area. However, only some pressure is required for flushing liquids and vacuum is needed in it for filtration.
